Glasner joined Palace in mid-February as their replacement for Roy Hodgson and has since made a huge impact at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles have won five of their last six Premier League games, a run that includes victories over Liverpool and Manchester United.

In order to keep hold of the Austrian, the Premier League side believe he is worth a whopping €100million [£86million].

Glasner has previous experience in a European top-flight league amid his Bundesliga stints with Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 49-year-old also won the Europa League with the latter in 2022 in which they beat Rangers 5-4 on penalties.

Now at Palace, players such as Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and Jean-Philippe Mateta have flourished under his management.

They sit 12th in the Premier League and could even seal a top-half finish, with Bayern now set to seek alternative targets.

The Germans have already been rebuffed by Xabi Alonso, who has opted to stay at Bayer Leverkusen after their stunning Bundesliga title success.

Julian Nagelsmann, who was sacked by Bayern last March, had also been contacted about a return before committing his future to the Germany national team, while Ralf Rangnick recently ruled himself out.

Another name linked is Hansi Flick, who managed Bayern between 2019 and 2021, during which time he won the Champions League and back-to-back Bundesliga titles.
