Who will be the next England manager?
That has been the question on everyones lips since Gareth Southgate resigned from his position as Three Lions boss on Tuesday.

The decision came after England’s 2-1 Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain, with Southgate citing it was now time for change and for someone new to take the reins.
England’s players have begun posting their tributes to their now former manager, with many of them playing their entire senior international careers under him so far.
talkSPORT understands Newcastle manager Eddie Howe would consider an offer from the Football Association to take the job.
But Howe isn’t the only one that’s been tipped by talkSPORT presenters and ex-footballers to be the next boss in the England dugout…

Adrian Durham - Carlo Ancelotti
"I was presenting [Kick Off on talkSPORT] last night when we were reviewing the tournament and I just mentioned about Ancelotti's relationship with Jude Bellingham.
"And it felt like that's the answer, suddenly it clicked in my head. To get the very best out of our very best player Jude Bellingham, do you not have an elite coach?
"I think Jude, he's got some attitude about him which I really love, he is the best player we've got and the best player we've produced in a long, long time. He demands standards because he has those standards at Real Madrid and they're winners.

"So why don't we look at that and think, 'Hang on a minute, should we set those kind of standards that Jude Bellingham expects?' And therefore that will raise everybody around him, all the players, all staff around him, and do we appoint somebody like Carlo Ancelotti
"The fact that he's worked at Chelsea and Everton tells me that there's a little bit of English in him anyway, so that will do me."

“Pep Guardiola wants to coach Manchester City for one more season. I don’t care what happens, I would force him out of Manchester City.

“I would like the manager to be English, but if Poch is available, I would go for Poch.
“Honestly, ideally I’d want an English manager, but if Poch is available and he wants the job, I know how much the lads would love him and I know how well he’d do for England.
“The thing with Poch is he’s a very emotional man. So he might tread thin with our media, that’s the thing.
“What Gareth did so well is he brought the media on board. Poch might find that difficult.
“The only thing I think Poch would find difficult is the English media. I know he’s used to the English media, but not as an England manager.”

Neil Ruddock - Eddie Howe
“I’d love to see Eddie Howe, I think he’s the No1 [choice]. I think he said a few years ago, he came out and said it was too early for him.
“I think now, if England come knocking, do you knock it back again? I think it’s a hard one to knock back.
“If you’re Eddie Howe, at Newcastle, he’s had a couple of years. Magnificent first year, last year they struggled.
“I think it’s all about timings. If you’re a manager of a massive team like Newcastle, I think it’s all about timing and I think the timing is right for him to take the England job right now.”

Luke Young - Eddie Howe
“I’d rather it be an Englishman if possible and Eddie would probably be the main candidate.
“The only thing is, I’m not sure Eddie is finished with club football. He probably feels like he’s got a few more years to do something within the Premier League.
“It might be a bit too early for Eddie. If we do go down the foreign route my only concern is I’d have wanted them to manage in the Premier League.
“We made that mistake before with Fabio Capello. I don’t think he knew too many of the players outside the top ones.
“Other than that he had to take a lot of time going round the country looking at the fringe players and I don’t think he knew enough about the English players to take the job.”

Alan Shearer - Eddie Howe
“I would imagine the outstanding candidate would be Eddie Howe.
“I think Eddie has a big decision to make because I’m certain the FA will ask him and then whatever happens after that, we don’t know.”
Gary Lineker - Jurgen Klopp
“I think he’s been the right person to bring the nation together in terms of the football team.
“And, now, maybe it’s time for someone else with a more modern, attacking style of football. Because I think the game’s gone away from being successful if you’re really defensive.
“If you want English, we mentioned, somebody maybe like [Frank] Lampard, who would get respect. But wouldn’t you go all out for Jurgen Klopp?”

Gary Neville - Graham Potter or Eddie Howe
“[The next manager] will have to win a trophy to surpass what Gareth has achieved.
“Over the years we have had every type of manager - the fashionable, the international manager, best English managers, people who have come through the ranks with youth teams.

“There is no science in terms of what works and there are obvious contenders. Graham Potter and Eddie Howe will get mentioned and I think it will definitely be an English manager.
“Moving to St George's Park was to promote and develop English coaches. To take that away from an English manager and give to an international manager would be wrong.”
