Blackburn star Sammie Szmodics’ verdict on Cristiano Ronaldo has risked an angry backlash from the Portuguese star’s No.1 fan IShowSpeed.
The attacking midfielder who made a huge splash in the Championship last season was set a challenge where he was to throw a punch if he heard the name of a player he believed was better than him.
Szmodics kept his hands to himself when names like Coventry’s Ellis Simms and Plymouth winger Morgan Whittaker were read out.
But the 28-year-old threw his best right-hander after hearing the names of Crysensio Summerville and Southampton’s Adam Armstrong, in solidarity with last season’s stand-out Championship performers.
The biggest surprise came when Cristiano Ronaldo’s name was called out and it’s fair to say few have ever described the Portuguese forward in the same way as Szmodics.
In a simple five-word summary, Szmodics said of Ronaldo: “Played against him, he’s sh***.”

His words are likely to incur the wrath of Ronaldo fans including superfan and social media star IShowSpeed.
Speed has never hidden his love of the 39-year-old and recently broke down in tears after Portugal and Ronaldo were dumped out of Euro 2024 on penalties by France.
The former Manchester United star was unable to get himself on the scoresheet for the entirety of his final European Championship appearance despite starting all five of his country’s matches.
But Szmodics had no trouble scoring goals last season, netting a staggering 31 goals for struggling Blackburn, who finished a disappointing 19th in the Championship.
He has been linked with a move away from the club this summer, however, Rovers are ready to offer their star man a hefty pay rise to keep him at the club.
Blackburn may be forced to sell the player should he opt to turn down an improved deal with the Championship club’s valuation believed to be between £15-20million.
