Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira has been sacked by Strasbourg after a poor season but could be back in work soon.
The French Ligue 1 club announced they have parted ways with Vieira after just one year in charge following his appointment last July.
The former Crystal Palace boss had penned a three-year deal with the BlueCo-owned club - the company that also runs Chelsea led by Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali.
The Chelsea owners had already dismissed one manager, letting Mauricio Pochettino go at Stamford Bridge at the end of last season, with Enzo Maresca picked as his replacement ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Vieira had been Strasbourg's first appointment since the change of ownership and he led them to 13th out of 18 teams in the French top tier last season.
A statement read: "The entire club warmly thanks Patrick Vieira for his impeccable commitment.

"Indeed, in a season of transition, Patrick was able to help young talents progress and always displayed exemplary behaviour on and off the field."
Club president Marc Keller also said: "We would like to express our gratitude and thank Patrick for the work he has accomplished during this first phase of the project and we wish him much success in the future. He will always be welcome at the club."
However, the Arsenal legend might not be out of work for long and the United States are already looking at him to potentially lead the men's side.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Vieira is one of the names under consideration to take over the USMNT [United States men's national team].
There are several options the United States are looking at but the Frenchman has long been linked with the role.
Before taking over at Strasbourg last year, there had been contacts with the USMNT before Gregg Berhalter returned to the job after a successor could not be found just six months following his departure.

However, after a miserable performance at the Copa America where USA failed to make it out of the group, Berhalter was sacked.
Vieira already has experience in the States. His first senior managerial role was with New York City FC, becoming head coach in 2016 and holding the position for two years.
In 90 games, he led the MLS side to 40 wins before joining French side OGC Nice as manager in 2018 and then Crystal Palace in 2021.
