Liam Rosenior in shock talks to take charge of European side to replace Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira
Strasbourg are in advanced talks to make Liam Rosenior their new manager, talkSPORT understands.
The former Hull City boss will replace Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira, after the French outfit relieved him of his duties on Thursday.
Strasbourg and Rosenior’s talks are advancing as both parties look to finalise the move.
The 40-year-old, who led Hull to just miss out on the Championship play-offs last term, is currently the top choice for the job.
Strasbourg are owned by Chelsea chairman and owner Todd Boehly's BlueCo.
Vieira oversaw a disappointing campaign with the Ligue 1 side last term in his first job since being sacked by Crystal Palace, with the club finishing 13th in the league.

Meanwhile, his potential replacement, Rosenior, was unexpectedly dismissed by Hull at the end of last season.
The Tigers missed out on the play-offs following a shock 1-0 defeat to relegation candidates Plymouth on the final day.
They ended the campaign in seventh place - three points off the final play-off spot.
That was their highest finish since they finished 18th in the Premier League in 2017.
Strasbourg will be Rosenior’s third managerial position, following his interim spell with Derby in 2022 and his time with Hull.
talkSPORT reported he turned down Plymouth’s offer to become their manager just days after being sacked by Hull.
The position instead went to his ex-Derby colleague Wayne Rooney.
Rosenior had been nominated for Championship manager of the season, but missed out to Ipswich's Kieran McKenna.
