‘Not true!’ – Riccardo Calafiori’s girlfriend claims post of her revealing Arsenal transfer completion is fake

Arsenal target Riccardo Calafiori's partner is threatening to take legal action after a post appearing to confirm his move went viral.

The Bologna defender's girlfriend, Benedetta Boeme, has released a statement on Instagram denying she broke the news of Calafiori's confirmed move.

talkSPORT understands the Gunners have reached an agreement in principle to sign the 22-year-old in a deal worth an initial £34million, rising to £38m in add-ons.

A screenshot of a TikTok story from an account named bboeme_, which has Boeme as its profile picture alongside other posts of the couple on its page, was picked up by Gunners fans on Saturday.

The post on the account read: "Many of you have been asking what’s been going on in my life lately, so I decided to finally share it with you. Riccardo and I are no longer together at the moment.

"I don’t know if we will get through, but I doubt it. I needed some time to process everything that happened over the past 3-4 days. I still need time.

"Thanks to everyone who showed me the video circulating on TikTok this week. I appreciate it; it was important for me to know the truth.

"I’ve watched it countless times, searching for a reason to forgive and forget, but I couldn’t. We talked about it, but I am still uncertain of the answers to my questions.

"It was a difficult decision, one we were considering for days. Neither of us wanted this, but what’s done is done and I can’t help it but want to run away from all this.

"I will not tolerate any kind of hate towards me or him. I wish him all the best as he joins Arsenal. He has all my support.

Now, though, Boeme has taken to her Instagram to deny that she posted this, or that she even has a TikTok account.

"I kindly ask whoever opened the TikTok profile pretending to be me and writing personal and delicate things, which then get reported as articles in the media, to immediately close the profile, otherwise I will take legal action.”

If he signs, Calafiori will be Arsenal's first signing of the summer.

European football expert Lars Sivertsen gave talkSPORT the run down on the defender, praising him as a 'very confident defender'.

He said: “A very confident defender, used to play as a left-back when he was younger.

“I think the memory most people will have of him this summer is when he was striding forth with the ball for Italy when they got a last minute draw against Croatia.”

talkSPORT host Tony Cascarino feels like there are comparisons to be made with Sergio Ramos.

Cascarino said on Weekend Sports Breakfast: “If Arsenal are getting a deal done for £40 million for a centre-half that a lot of clubs have looked at and wanted then that's a fantastic addition to the club.

“He's got it all. He's really composed, but he's got a bit of Sergio Ramos in him as well.

“He gets on the ball, he can find passes really easily. You can play him in a three, you can play him in a two. He's really versatile and I think it's a great addition for Arsenal.”
