talkSPORT revealed earlier this summer that Chelsea were willing to offload Chalobah but prefer a permanent move to a loan.

Chalobah made 34 appearances in all competitions last term but is yet to feature for the Blues this season.

The 24-year-old is contracted at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2028, with an option to a further year, having signed a new deal last November.

He's been associated with Chelsea since he was nine years old and has clocked up 63 senior appearances for the senior side since making his debut in August 2021.

The England youth international scored on his Premier League debut, a long-range strike in a 3-0 win against Crystal Palace in August 2021.

It's been a summer of comings and goings in west London as the club look to strike a balance of helping Mauricio Pochettino build a squad in his image while also allowing co-owner Todd Boehly to balance the books.

Chelsea have said goodbye to a number of recognised names in their squad including Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, N'Golo Kante, Cesar Azpilicueta and Mateo Kovacic.

Chalobah wouldn't be the first player Tuchel has tried to pinch from the Premier League having brought in England captain Harry Kane from Tottenham.

Kane has hit the ground running at Bayern having scored three goals in his first three appearances for the club.
