Chelsea leave Trevoh Chalobah out of pre-season squad for USA tour amid uncertainty on defender’s future
Trevoh Chalobah has been left out of Chelsea's pre-season tour of the USA, talkSPORT understands.
The defender is one of the players Chelsea are willing to sell this summer and has interest from Crystal Palace.
Chelsea have numerous players on their books with fellow centre-backs Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi and summer signing Tosin Adarabioyo all getting the nod for Stateside.
It's understood that the decision to leave Chalobah at home not taken lightly by the club.
But it's a decision that's not gone down well with Chelsea fans, including talkSPORT's Rory Jennings.
Reacting to the news, Jennings said on Transfer Insiders: “They’ve omitted Chalobah from the pre-season squad, he deserves so much more respect than that.

“They should show him a level of respect that doesn’t mean he just gets omitted from the squad.
“I like Trevoh Chalobah, I love how he’s come through the academy at Cobham… but even if you remove any sentimentality he is the best centre-back at the club.”
Chalobah has been on Chelsea's books for 17 years having joined them aged eight.
After signing a professional contract in 2018, Chalobah had to wait three years for his senior Blues debut having been loaned out on three separate occasions.
His first appearance saw him win a trophy as he helped Chelsea to Super Cup glory as they beat Villarreal in the final.
Although he's failed to establish himself as a consistent starter for Chelsea, Chalobah has previously attracted interest from Bayern Munich and West Ham.
The 25-year-old is currently contracted at Chelsea until 2028 having signed a new long-term deal in November 2022, which makes him tougher to offload.
Chelsea's tour of the States sees them face Wrexham in the early hours of Thursday morning before taking on Celtic on Saturday evening.
