In the club's opening friendly on Wednesday, they beat Walsall 3-0 and did so wearing an all-white kit that had never been seen before.

Villa will be donning that kit one final time on Saturday, so talkSPORT.com has looked at why they aren’t in their usual strip…

Why are Aston Villa wearing a one-off kit?

Aston Villa are only wearing their special kit for their first two pre-season games.

The all-white strip has the Aston Villa Foundation as a sponsor and also has a nod to the club’s 150th anniversary on the rear collar.

Emery’s side are wearing the kit to help raise money, as after the game against Spartak Trnava, each shirt will be auctioned off.

The white kit won't be available for retail, with the proceeds from the auction going straight to the Foundation.

Aston Villa’s Head of Foundation & Community, Guy Rippon said: “All proceeds will be invested into the Foundation’s disability activities, a vital part of our work, which sees nearly 100 players represent Aston Villa in regional pan-disability leagues.

“The proceeds will also support sporting activities run for day care centres, in addition to youth clubs for children and young people with special educational needs.”

That incredible finish means they’re in the Champions League for the first time since 1982 when they won the European Cup.

Emery will be hoping for a good pre-season leading up to their opening fixture away at West Ham on Saturday, August 17.
