Harry Kane saluted Bayern Munich fans in their final home game of the season, despite missing out through injury.
The England captain would have been desperate to feature in the 2-0 win over Wolfsburg after chasing down Robert Lewandowski's Bundesliga goal record.
Kane has scored an incredible 44 goals in 45 games in all competitions during his first season since swapping Tottenham for Germany.
However, none of those goals failed to help the striker end his trophy drought and he is now set to miss out on his greatest individual accomplishment.
Kane was just five goals shy of levelling Lewandowski's legendary haul of 41 Bundesliga strikes with just two top-flight matches remaining.
However, his ongoing back problems ruled him out of Bayern's penultimate match of a disappointing campaign.

Even if Kane recovers in time to face Hoffenheim next Saturday he will need a double hat-trick to make the record his own.
The Three Lions striker tried not to let his fitness issues hamper Bayern's post-match celebration in front of their own fans.
Having watched the win over Wolfsburg from the sidelines, Kane came onto the pitch at full-time with three of his four children.
His daughters Ivy and Vivienne, alongside son Louis were decked out in full Bayern kits and headphones to protect against the noise in the Allianz Arena.
Kane saluted the home fans before watching on with his wife Kate as his children practiced penalties on the empty pitch. The couple have a fourth child together, Henry, who was born in August.
Writing on X, Kane said: "A massive thanks to our fans who have made me and my family feel so welcome and at home this season.

"Was great to spend a nice moment with the family on the pitch and thank our incredible home fans after a good win. We’ll look to finish on a high note next weekend."
The forward looked remarkably upbeat just days after a heartbreaking defeat to Real Madrid ended his silverware hopes.
Kane missed out on a trophy on his debut with the club after being part of their 3-0 defeat to RB Leipzig in the German Supercup.
He has since seen Bayer Leverkusen finally end Bayern's domination in Germany, denying the giants their 12th straight domestic success.
With the Champions League his last hope at glory, Kane was withdrawn in the 85th minute on Wednesday with Bayern looked to be heading into the Wembley final.
But two quick-fire late goals from Real Madrid turned the tie on its head, with Thomas Tuchel defending his decision to sub his talisman.
“He couldn't keep going. He played with back pain and he couldn't keep going, his back froze up," he said.

"We started with a front four and all four had to go out with injury or cramp. The front four all said they had to go. It hurts. It’ll take a while to recover, but on the one hand it’s a loss where we left it all out on the pitch.
"Of course, it’s tough to accept. It’s part of reality. No regrets. But on the other, there were too many injuries, a few too many substitutions, too many cramps.”
