Bayern Munich dropped to third place on a dramatic final day in the Bundesliga.

Thomas Tuchel's side, without talisman Harry Kane through injury, threw away a 2-0 lead at Hoffenheim to lose 4-2.

The result meant Bayern did not even finish second, despite occupying that spot for the majority of the campaign.

They were overtaken by Stuttgart, who won 4-0 at home to Borussia Monchengladbach, as a result of the stunning collapse.

Bayern consequently end up in third place for the first time since the 2011/2012 campaign.

That is despite Kane scoring 36 goals in 32 games in his debut season for the German giants, who netted a staggering 94 times overall.

On Saturday, Bayern raced into a two-goal lead within six minutes through Mathys Tel and Alphonso Davies.

Maximilian Beier pulled one back for Hoffenheim on eight minutes, before a quickfire hat-trick from Andrej Kramaric completed the hosts' comeback.

Meanwhile, champions Bayer Leverkusen completed the first Invincible campaign in Bundesliga history with a 2-1 victory over Ausburg.

It is a miserable end to life at Bayern for Tuchel, who recently reaffirmed that he will leave the club this summer after a trophyless campaign.
