Mason Greenwood will not sign for Borussia Dortmund this summer, talkSPORT understands.

The Manchester United forward was loaned to Getafe at the start of last season, after criminal charges against him were dropped.

Dortmund had been linked with Greenwood, but are now not expected to pursue a deal to sign him.

Greenwood is said to be settled in the Spanish capital, with links to Atletico Madrid.

Getafe also want to secure his services for another season after he scored 10 goals in 36 games for the La Liga side.

talkSPORT understands that Manchester United want to activate the final year of Greenwood’s contract in order to preserve his value for a potential sale.

This summer will be the club's last chance to attract a large fee for Greenwood and the Red Devils are understood to be keen to sell him rather than extend his loan period with Getafe.

It is still highly unlikely that he will return to Old Trafford.

Napoli are among the other European clubs to have made contact with Man United over the potential signing of Greenwood.

Barcelona were also reportedly interested in signing the striker earlier in the season.
