Bryson DeChambeau has an idea for his next YouTube video.

The US Open champion, inspired by Donald Trump and Joe Biden's fiery golf debate during the live US presidential debate on CNN, has offered to host a match between the pair.

The LIV Golf star, who has reinvented himself on social media in recent times, laid down the challenge on X, posting: "Let's settle this whole handicap debate, I'll host the golf match on my YouTube @realDonaldTrump @JoeBiden".

DeChambeau's proposal came off the back of the presidential candidates getting into a heated argument about each other's golf credentials.

The topic came up when CNN moderator Dana Bash mentioned Trump, 78, and Biden's, 81, ages at the end of a potential second term in office.

Both defended themselves while Trump claimed he'd recently aced two cognitive tests.

The former president then took the opportunity to boast about his golf prowess, bragging about his achievements in the game.

"Two club championships - not even senior - two regular club championships," he claimed to have won.

"To do that you have to be quite smart and you have to be able to hit the ball a long way. And I do it. He doesn’t do it. He can’t hit a ball 50 yards. He challenged me to a golf match, he can’t hit a ball 50 yards.”

“Look I’d be happy to have a driving contest with him. I’ll remind you I got my handicap when I was vice president down to a six,” President Joe Biden fired back as Trump laughed and shook his head.

“By the way, I’ve told you before I’m happy to play golf with you if you carry your own bag. Think you can do it?” Biden continued.

Trump responded, suggesting Biden was lying.

"That’s the biggest lie that he’s a six handicap, of all,” Trump said, adding “yup.”

"I was a eight handicap. Yeah. Eight," Biden said, appearing to backtrack.

"I’ve seen your swing, I know how you swing,” Trump said. "Let's not act like children", to which Biden replied: "You are a child."

The once decisive DeChambeau, viewed as a highly-strung, super competitive character who often rubbed fellow players up the wrong way, has engineered an almost entirely new personality through the power of YouTube.

The American currently has 789k followers on the platform and is gaining new fans by the minute.

His irreverent and often self-deprecating skits, bits and challenges have shown a different, more endearing side to his personality - one that has ultimately chimed with audiences more than his previous brash self.

It's also happened to coincide with an uptick in form.

He was hailed as a 'class act' at Valhalla and proved that nice guys don't always finish last by winning the US Open at Pinehurst for his second major title.

“My mission is to continue to expand the game, grow the game globally, domestically. YouTube has really helped me accomplish some of that,” DeChambeau previously told reporters.

“Consequently I think people have seen who I am on YouTube, which has been fantastic, ‘cause then I get to play off of it. It just feeds itself out here.

“They just say things that make me interact and engage. When is the next junior club set coming out?

“It’s direct conversations to people that truly engage with what I’m doing. It’s such an awesome, awesome platform for me to show who I truly am.”

Hosting a highly-anticipated - not to mention unprecedented - Biden vs Trump golf match would certainly represent a major coup for DeChambeau's channel.

The two-time major champion already has an existing relationship with Trump, admitting he is "very lucky to have a relationship with him", and that Trump has "always been generous to me."

After DeChambeau's victory at the US Open, Trump wrote on Truth Social: “Congratulations to Bryson DeChambeau on his incredible WIN of the United States Open!

"He showed a toughness and inner strength, matched perfectly with his GREAT Golfing Talent, that can never be denied!

“Under massive pressure, he pulled off some of the greatest shots ever made, especially his spectacular sand save on the 18th Hole that gave him the Victory."

DeChambeau's rapidly-growing YouTube channel hardly needs a boost, but if he does manage to get Biden and Trump on the greens his subscribers would likely go stratospheric.
