Paris 2024 Olympics lifts intimacy ban on athletes and stocks up village with 300,000 condoms
Paris 2024 Olympians will not be banned from private intimacy in a move that will see the previous restriction lifted.
Due to the COVID pandemic, athletes at the tournament in Tokyo in 2021 to abide by rules to help prevent the spread of the virus.
They had to limit their physical contact with each other, with social distancing rules requiring them to stay around six feet apart.
Around 150,000 condoms were handed out at the tournament, with CBS Sports reporting this has been done since the Seoul Olympics in 1988 to raise awareness for HIV and AIDS.
Intimacy rules in Tokyo due to the pandemic meant these couldn't be used but this looks set to change this summer in Paris.
Sky News say 300,000 condoms will be stocked at the Olympic Village in the French capital during the event.

Village director Laurent Michaud said: "It is very important that the conviviality here is something big.
"Working with the athletes commission, we wanted to create some places where the athletes would feel very enthusiastic and comfortable."
This year's Olympic Village is reported to cost in the region of £1.7billion, the single costliest Olympic project.
Around 9,000 athletes are set to arrive in Paris in the summer, with the opening ceremony taking place on July 26.
The Village is located near the Stade de France, is the same size as 70 football pitches and is located on the side of the River Seine.
Athletes will certainly be well fed and refreshed, although they will need to head into the city if they are to celebrate with champagne.

Michaud added: "No champagne in the village, of course, but they can have all the champagne they want also in Paris.
"We will have more than 350 metres of buffet with the world food... and I'm sure that the athletes will be very happy to have some French specialties made over here.
"But the variety will first respond to the athletes' needs for their nutrition and their performance."
